Today’s expression, la remise des diplômes (lah ruhmeez day deeplohm) means “the conferring of the diplomas,” in other words graduation. French schools don’t typically make a big deal of this rite of passage. The diploma just kind of shows up in the mail. I won’t be blogging much for a few days because my daughter is graduating from Brown University this weekend with an Honors degree in Economics, magna cum laude. Do I seem a little proud? I am. Félicitations, ma petite!
