Vivre d’amour et d’eau fraîche

I miss Paris terribly at the moment. I think the only cure is a Valentine’s Day package at Hotel Fouquet’s Barrière on the Champs Élysées. I could deal with a butler catering to my every whim and the chance to indulge at their full service spa. The package includes a room or suite complete with champagne and caviar, full breakfast, dinner at their restaurant, and access to the spa. The offer is available from February 5 to 20, 2012 from 900 Euros. I can feel the love already.

Today’s expression, vivre d’amour et d’eau fraîche (veevruh damoor ay dough fresh), means to live on love and fresh water. A love that’s totally unconcerned with material concerns is all well and good; champagne, caviar, and Paris sound much more appealing.
