Formation continue

For years, we’ve been following programs from The Great Courses. They hire the top professors to lecture in their area of passion and they produce them in DVD or CD formats. They have all sorts of options to appeal to Francophiles. I love the CDs for turning commuting into productive time. The programs also make great gifts for the upcoming holidays. While the list prices are fairly steep, they always have dozens of titles on sale.

Today’s expression, formation continue (for-ma-see-on kon-tin-u), means “continuing or adult education.” With The Great Courses, your education never needs to end, and you can major in whatever you feel like. Best of all, there are no exams and no essays to write.
