Comme une Française

comme une francaiseClearly, you love french culture, or you wouldn’t be reading this blog. If you’d also like to speak and understand French better, the video blog Comme une Française (kum oon frahnsez), which means “Like a French woman,” would be a good resource for you.

geraldine

The charming Géraldine Lepère has dozens of free videos with helpful cultural and language information for those who are living in or traveling to France. The videos cover helpful topics, such as ordering your baguette cooked just the way you like it or knowing when you should shake someone’s hand or kiss the cheek (and how many times!). I often use one of her videos at the beginning of class to reinforce something we’re working on and they go over well with my students. If these videos whet your appetite for more, try signing up for one of her online courses. Lessons that focus on speaking and listening are delivered once a week for a month and the price seems very reasonable.  Stick with Géraldine and soon you’ll be speaking comme une Française.
